Rohr: Ighalo To Undergo Late Fitness Test, Starting XI To Be Named Monday Morning
Published: September 04, 2017
Odion Ighalo will undergo a late fitness on Monday to determine his availability for the World Cup qualifier against the Indomitable Lions, after the former Watford star picked up a minor hamstring injury in the first leg.
When asked on the possibility of playing without Ighalo, who limped off in the rout in Uyo last Friday, Rohr
said, "If Ighalo isn't fit to play we would decide at the last moment. We have two recognized centre forwards available to us.
''Kelechi Iheanacho and Anthony Nwakaeme are good options.
"The technical crew would like to stick with the same core of players. If Ighalo isn't fit for the game, we won't take any risk.
''Any decision as regards possible changes to the team will be made on Monday morning.''
Nigeria are on top of the Group B standing with nine points from three games.
