Ezenwa Named Man Of The Match After WAFU Cup Heroics
Published: September 12, 2017
Super Eagles B skipper Ikechukwu Ezenwa was named Fox Sports Man of the Match for his performance in the 2-0 win over Sierra Leone in the WAFU Cup on Monday night.
Nigeria needed two late goals from Osas Okoro and Peter Eneji to humble the Lone Stars at the Cape Coast Stadium.
Ezenwa pulled close range saves for the Eagles especially in the first 75 minutes of the keenly contested battle, that the Sierra Leoneans had the chance to win.
The FC Ifeanyi Ubah goalkeeper was impressive for the Eagles main team in the double header against Cameroon earlier in the month.
The Eagles arrived in Ghana on Sunday evening and quickly trekked to Cape Coast for the clash with the home-based Lone Stars of Sierra Leone.
The side had to delay for a day as the Nigerian Professional Football League had to end to allow Nigeria line up their best players at the end of the domestic league season.
