Nigerian Midfielder To Miss Leicester City Vs Liverpool Clash On Tuesday
Published: September 19, 2017
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that former Golden Eaglets trainee Ovie Ejaria is definitely not in contention to make his first appearance of the season when Liverpool face Leicester City at the King Power Stadium in the League Cup on Tuesday night.
The England U20 World Cup-winning midfielder played for Liverpool U23 squad on Monday night in their 2-0 win at West Ham and will not be considered for the trip to Leicester City as a result.
In the same vein, Bobby Adekanye, who is targeting a debut for Liverpool's first team is not expected to figure for the Reds against the Foxes as the winger also featured for the U23s last night.
Last season, Ejaria was considered one of the brightest young talents at Liverpool, but has found playing opportunities difficult to come by after his return from a long term injury just before the 2017 Fifa U20 World Cup.
Dominic Solanke is available for the Cup contest after impressing in a cameo appearance against Burnley last weekend.
And there's a possibility that four Nigerian players will get game time, with Leicester City's Super Eagles stars Kelechi Iheanacho, Ahmed Musa and Wilfred Ndidi passed fit.
