Daniel Amokachi Returns To Everton & Runs The Rule Over Liverpool Old Boy Ibe
Published: September 25, 2017
Super Eagles hero Daniel Amokachi was among the 38,133 spectators at Goodison Park in Liverpool when Everton took on AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday, September 23.
The attacker was introduced to the Toffees faithful and received a standing ovation before the game started at 1500 hours.
Amokachi monitored Nigeria Football Federation target and Liverpool old boy Jordon Ibe, who put in a full shift against Everton, but would have been disappointed that another target, Everton winger Ademola Lookman didn't come off the bench.
This is Amokachi's second publicized visit to England in the last two months as he was part of the Super Eagles squad at the inaugural Star Sixes indoor football competition.
The 1994 World Cup star was shown the facilities at Everton's Training Ground, Finch Farm, a day before Ronald Koeman's troops faced the Cherries.
Daniel Amokachi will always have a place in Everton's folklore for his memorable brace against Tottenham Hotspur in the semifinal of the FA Cup in 1995, after bringing himself on as a substitute.
