Chelsea Hail Moses : He Created Nigeria's Best Chance First Half & Played A Part In Goal
Published: October 07, 2017
In their review of the World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Zambia on Saturday evening, Premier League champions Chelsea reserved special praise for their number 15 Victor Moses, noting that he was involved in most of the Super Eagles attacking moves.
At the tail end of the game, Moses came close to scoring his fourth goal of the qualifiers after he was teed up by Chelsea teammate Ola Aina, but somehow missed the chance.
''Moses was the creator of the best chance to break the deadlock in the first half, following a powerful drive forward with a chipped pass to set Odion Ighalo through on goal just before the break, but the former Watford striker hit his shot wide,'' Chelsea wrote on their official website, chelseafc.com.
''The second period continued to the same frustrating pattern, but it was eventually Nigeria who found the breakthrough to kill of Zambia's qualification hopes.
''Moses again played a big part, finding Abdullahi Shehu in space, with the midfielder cutting the ball back for substitute Alex Iwobi to finish the move.''
Moses will resume training with Chelsea early next week, ahead of the Blues trip to Selhurst Park, where they face his old club Crystal Palace on October 14.
