Nigeria For Life : Hull City Celebrate Aina's Debut But Chelsea Remain Silent
Published: October 08, 2017
Former England U19 skipper Ola Aina became cap-tied to the Nigerian national teams when he stepped out onto the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium pitch in the 80th minute to replace an injured Elderson Echiejile against Zambia on Saturday evening.
The London Borough of Southwark native had represented England U16, U17, U18, U19 and U20 youth teams and manager Gernot Rohr was smart to introduce the defender in the closing minutes, which tied him to the Super Eagles for life.
Hull City have congratulated Aina for making his international debut, stating : ''🇳🇬 | Congratulations on your international debut and helping @NGSuperEagles qualify for #Russia2018, @Aina2Ola!''
However, Chelsea, Ola Aina's primary employer, remained silent despite their comprehensive review of the Super Eagles battle with Zambia, instead focusing a lot of attention on their number fifteen Victor Moses.
Aina, who is celebrating his 21st birthday today, has made six first-team appearances for the Premier League champs.
