Rohr Satisfied With Modern Day Full Back Aina : He Is A Big-Game Player
Published: October 08, 2017
Chelsea defender Ola Aina pulled on a Nigeria jersey with the number 2 at its back, and finally made his international debut for the Super Eagles in their 1-0 win over Zambia yesterday.
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has hinted that the former England U19 skipper will be invited to the national team for future matches, after giving him all the attributes of a modern day full back.
''He did pretty well. He tackles well, joins the attack, has the heart for the big game and very calculating,” Rohr praised Aina at the post –match conference.
Aina, who was cleared by FIFA to wear the green-and-white just before the away match against Cameroon in Yaounde last month, got his opportunity after left back Elderson Echiejile got injured in the 79th minute.
Incidentally, Ola Aina will be celebrating his 21st birthday on Sunday, 8th October 2017.
