Chelsea Congratulate Ola Aina On His Debut For Super Eagles, Acknowledge Mikel
Published: October 08, 2017
Premier League champions Chelsea have finally congratulated one of their own products Ola Aina for making his international debut for the Super Eagles on Saturday, after earlier omitting the defender from their match report.
In the roundup of their players on international duty, The Blues have now included Aina and also acknowledged that John Obi Mikel, who spent more than a decade at Stamford Bridge before transferring to Tianjin Teda, was among the players that helped the Super Eagles reach the World Cup.
''Nigeria weathered the inevitable Zambian onslaught comfortably in the closing stages to make sure they will be in action in Russia in 2018,'' Chelsea wrote on their official website.
''Ola Aina came on with 79 minutes played to make his full international debut. Our former player John Mikel Obi was also part of the side.''
Chelsea have also sent Ola Aina a birthday message, ''Happy birthday @Aina2Ola, and congratulations on making your full international debut for Nigeria! 🙌''.
