2002 World Cup Star Ogbeche On Road To Recovery After Eight Months Out
Published: October 11, 2017
Out-of-favour Nigeria international Bartholomew Ogbeche is on the road to full recovery after spending eight months on the sidelines.
The Willem II frontman has yet to play competitively for the Dutch club since January 15, 2017 when he sustained a cruciate ligament injury in an Eredivisie game against NEC Nijmegen.
During the second international break of the season, Ogbeche was involved in test game against Club Brugge and the manager of Willem II will be delighted he came through the match unscathed after spending thirty minutes on the pitch.
The striker suffered a shoulder injury a month after he joined the Tilburg based club from SC Cambuur-Leeuwarden in 2016, before damaging his ligaments a year later.
Prior to Ogbeche's spell on the sidelines, he had scored 2 goals from 18 appearances for Willem II.
Now 33, he was part of Nigeria's squad at the 2002 World Cup, and started against Sweden and Argentina.
