Not Iwobi, Iheanacho Nor Mikel As Rohr Names Super Eagles Most Valuable Player
Published: October 11, 2017
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr reckons that Chelsea dazzler Victor Moses is the best player on his team.
The German tactician is on the same page as controlling body for African football, CAF, who selected the former Crystal Palace and Wigan Athletic ace in their best eleven for match day three, four and five from the Fifa World Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria have scored nine goals in their last four World Cup qualifiers, with Moses contributing to four of those goals, and he's the top scorer for the national team on the road to Russia.
Skipper Obi Mikel and Premier League stars Alex Iwobi, Ahmed Musa, Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi and Victor Moses have dominated Rohr's line-up since he was appointed coach, and he has picked the Blues number fifteen as his Most Valuable Player.
''He is a world-class player and you can rely on him any time and any moment he is playing,'' Rohr told Sporting Life.
''He is the most impressive player in my team. He is fast and I hope he will not get injured before the World Cup in Russia. I have absolute confidence in him.''
Moses has played in the World Cup before, in Brazil 2014, where he started against Iran and France.
