Aina Confident Of Making Nigeria World Cup Roster, Asks Russian Coach About Stadiums
Published: October 14, 2017
Chelsea loanee Ola Aina is confident that he'll be among the 23 players that manager Gernot Rohr will include in his World Cup roster, and has already asked Hull City's Russian coach Leonid Slutsky about the stadiums in Russia.
The former England U19 skipper returned to England in a good mood, having assisted Nigeria qualify for a sixth World Cup, making his international debut off the bench in the 79th minute.
''I know playing for the national team can really change the mood of a player...,'' Slutsky told Hull Daily Mail.
''If you have a really good mood from your players then it will be better for the team, for everybody.
''Larsson, Grosicki, Meyler, Ola Aina have come in with good moods.
''Grosicki and Aina have asked me about stadiums in Russia, about football, about cities. I hope Larsson and Meyler will play in the World Cup also.''
London-born Aina did not represent England youth teams in a major tournament before he changed his allegiance to Nigeria.
