Rohr Hints Ola Aina Might Make Full Debut Against Algeria
Published: October 16, 2017
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has all but confirmed that he is set to hand a full debut to talented Chelsea defender Ola Aina in next month's World Cup qualifier against Algeria.
The former England U19 skipper pulled on a Nigeria jersey with the number 2 at its back, and finally made his international debut for the Super Eagles off the bench in their 1-0 win over Zambia on October 7.
''Well, it is a possibility to use the opportunity to see some of the players we have not seen so much of them,'' Rohr told Romanus Ugwu of The Sun Nigeria.
''We have players like John Ogu, Nwakeme, Ola Aina, among others. It will be good to use the game to look at them very well but we are also conscious of getting good FIFA ranking ahead of the World Cup draws in December 1.
''Resting super regular players is a possibility but we are also looking at the possibility of finishing the qualifiers without losing a match. ''
Nigeria will face Algeria at Mohamed-Hamlaoui Stadium in Constantine on November 10, 2017.
