Leicester City Coach Explains Why Iheanacho Started Vs West Brom
Published: October 16, 2017
Leicester City gaffer Craig Shakespeare has explained why he included Kelechi Iheanacho in his starting line-up for Monday night's Premier League clash against West Brom at the King Power Stadium.
Today will make it one month that the Nigeria international last started a competitive game (vs Huddersfield Town) for the Foxes due to fitness problems and loss of form.
''It's been stop-start for Kelechi, but he's trained really well, fitness is up to speed and we think he can cause problems,'' Shakespeare was quoted as saying by Leicester City.
Iheanacho and England international Jamie Vardy will partner up in attack, while Wilfred Ndidi is set to make his eight consecutive start in the English top-flight this term.
Leicester City Starting XI : Schmeichel, Simpson, Maguire, Morgan (c), Fuchs, Ndidi, Iborra, Mahrez, Albrighton, Iheanacho, Vardy.
Substitutes: Hamer, Chilwell, Amartey, King, Gray, Slimani, Okazaki.
West Brom Starting XI: Myhill, Gibbs, Evans, Livermore, Rondon, Barry, Rodriguez, Krychowiak, Chadli, Dawson, Hegazi.
Substitutes: Palmer, Nyom, Yacob, Phillips, Brunt, McClean, McAuley.
