Sunderland Await Fitness Report On Ex-Eagles Invitee Maja
Published: October 21, 2017
Sunderland have provided an update on the injury suffered by former Super Eagles invitee Josh Maja on Friday.
The striker was due to get some minutes against Everton but had to withdraw from the roster after he suffered an injury in the warm-up.
''Maja just felt his knee in the warm-up,'' Black Cats under-23 coach Elliott Dickman told safc.com on Friday.
''It was a sensible decision, we didn’t want to take any risks and tomorrow he will be assessed by the medical team at the Academy of Light.
''He is just coming back from an injury so we didn’t want to take any chances, hopefully we should know more after the weekend.''
Maja, 18, was the youngest player invited to a Super Eagles training camp in London in March 2017, but could not attend the get-together due to club duties.
