(See Photo) Hard-working Midfielder Onovo Celebrates Winning The League In Finland
Published: October 29, 2017
Hard-working Nigerian midfielder Vincent Onovo was delighted after HJK Helsinki were handed the title on the final day of the Veikkausliiga season on Saturday.
HJK, Finland's most successful club, had already wrapped up the title weeks ago and the match against RoPS at Telia 5G -areena was just a formality.
Defender Faith Friday Obilor went the distance for the champions against his former team, while 2010 World Cup star Sani Kaita came off the bench for the visitors on 89 minutes.
Onovo didn't dress for HJK amid speculation surrounding his future with HJK, as his contract is set to run out at the end of this season.
''I feel great this season. I’m so happy to win double titles (the Cup and League),'' said Onovo to allnigeriasoccer.com.
''I performed well in every game. Right now I still have one more month with my team so I am training to see what is going to happen to my future''.
The 21-year-old Vincent Onovo recorded 29 appearances in all competitions for HJK, scoring 4 goals and providing 2 assists.
