Super Eagles Star Henry Nominated For Anderlecht Goal Of The Month Award
Published: October 31, 2017
Henry Onyekuru is in the running for R.S.C. Anderlecht's Goal of the Month award for October 2017.
The Nigeria international has been nominated for the accolade along with Pieter Gerkens and Hamdi Harbaoui .
Five goals scored by the aforementioned players are in contention for the award, including Onyekuru's strikes against Standard Liege (October 1) and KV Mechelen (October 13, 2-0).
Nicolae Stanciu's equalizer against Waasland-Beveren was voted the most eye-catching goal scored by an
Anderlecht player in the month of September.
This season, Onyekuru has tallied 7 goals from 17 appearances in all competitions, but has not registered his name on the score-sheet in the last four matches.
The 20-year-old is in line to earn at least an additional cap for the Super Eagles when they face Algeria and Argentina in international matches in November.
The striker has been named in Anderlecht's starting line-up for tonight's Champions League game against Paris Saint Germain at Parc des Princes.
