Ighalo Confirms: I'm Out For 10-15 Days, Will Miss Algeria & Argentina Games
Published: November 01, 2017
Changchun Yatai F.C. frontman Odion Ighalo has confirmed that he has withdrawn from the Super Eagles latest roster announced on Monday after picking up an injury.
Sports daily Sporting Life broke the news that the national team coaches cannot count on the services of Ighalo for the international matches against Algeria and Argentina, and this has been independently confirmed by this website.
The medical tests carried out on the former Watford star by club medics confirmed the worst fears of manager Gernot Rohr and the Super Eagles faithful, that the striker faces a spell on the sidelines.
''I suffered a knee sprain (ligament) in our last game against Chongqing Dangdai Lifan F.C on Sunday, I was able to finish the game because I thought it wasn't serious, then I started feeling pains after the game,'' said Ighalo to allnigeriasoccer.com.
''I will be out of action for 10-15 days, I won't be able to play against Algeria and Argentina.''
Ighalo has started the last three competitive matches played by the Super Eagles and was on target in the 4-0 hammering of Cameroon in September.
