Chelsea Loanee Omeruo Stays Hot After International Duty, Eduok Strikes In Turkey
Published: November 20, 2017
Kasimpasa put hosts Kardemir Karabukspor to the sword with two second half goals in a 2-0 win in the Turkish Super League on Monday evening, with Nigerian duo of Kenneth Omeruo and Emem Eduok impressing.
After Omeruo had put in a dogged showing in the first period to keep the Blue Flames at bay with a number of timed challenges, it was Cameroonian forward, Franck Etoundi who broke the resilience of the hosts in the 58th minute, latching onto a pass to place a left footed shot from the left side of the box to the centre of the goal.
Super Eagles striker Eduok got in on the act on the 72nd minute, rifling in a right footed shot from outside the box to the top left corner to make sure of the points.
Both Nigerians logged the full ninety minutes of the game with the Chelsea loanee particularly keeping off the forays of their hosts in an accomplished display that would have well swelled his ego and increased his reputation.
For Eduok, the goal was his second of the season while he had equally laid on two assists for his teammates.
Kasimpasa stay in 12th on the league log with this win, having accrued 15 points in 12 games while their opponents are thrown in a relegation dogfight, sitting in 17th of the 18-team table with just eight points.
