Official : Monaco Announce Appointment Of Emenalo As Sporting Director
Published: November 27, 2017
French Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco have announced the appointment of former Nigeria international Michael Emenalo as the new Sporting Director with immediate effect.
The 52-year-old held a similar post at Premier League champions Chelsea until he resigned exactly three weeks ago.
Monaco had been in search of a new Sporting Director following the departure of Spaniard Antonio Cordon this summer.
''It’s a wonderful opportunity for me in such a high quality project. AS Monaco has shown a great evolution in the past few seasons and I am convinced that the club will keep being successful,'' Emenalo told Monaco's official website.
''Vadim Vasilyev convinced me to join AS Monaco and I believe this is the right choice for me after my decision to leave Chelsea.
''I will work here with humility and try my best to bring my experience in this club which is a reference of French and European football.''
Chelsea won three Premier League titles, three FA Cups, the League Cup, Europa League and the Champions League during Emenalo's spell at Stamford Bridge.
