Uche Agbo: I Don't Mind Sitting On Bench At World Cup, Rohr Is Like A Father
Published: December 11, 2017
Former Granada star Uche Agbo has set his sights on making Nigeria's 23-man World Cup roster and does not mind sitting on the bench and cheering the team.
Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr summoned the versatile midfielder for the last ten matches contested by the national team but he only got some minutes in the 3-0 rout of Togo in a friendly in June.
''I'm dreaming, I hope I'm going to the World Cup and I'll play there. Again, if I'm on the bench, I'll be the biggest fan,'' Uche told Croatian website sportske.jutarnji.hr.
''In fact, we all think, we all dream of Russia and we are ready to do a great job if we are not there for some reason, we will be the biggest fans for those who play and fight for the Nigerian jersey.''
He added : ''Rohr is not just a coach, he's mostly like a father. He created the right team, he brought us organization and discipline.
''We can play offensive and defensive equally good.''
Agbo was part of the Flying Eagles squad at the 2013 Fifa U20 World Cup and played against Portugal in the group stage.
