(Photo Confirmation) Barcelona Target Signs New Contract With Manchester United
Published: December 14, 2017
Talented England U17 international Angel Gomes has signed his first professional contract with Manchester United.
Gomes, 17, is a promising midfielder and is one of the most exciting players to have come through Manchester United's Academy for a long time.
He made his first-team debut in the last game of the Premier League last season when he replaced Wayne Rooney in a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace.
Jose Mourinho told manutd.com : ''I am delighted that Angel has signed his first professional contract with the club.
''I gave him his first-team debut at the end of last season which made him not only the youngest Manchester United player to play in the Premier League era but also the youngest player to represent Manchester United since Duncan Edwards in 1953.''
After putting himself in the shop window at the 2017 Fifa U17 World Cup, Gomes was linked with other teams like Dortmund and Barcelona but he will remain at Manchester United for the foreseeable future.
