Chelsea Boss Drops Big Hint Moses Will Not Be Rested Against Bournemouth
Published: December 17, 2017
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has dropped a big hint that Victor Moses will not be rested when the Premier League champs tackle Jordon Ibe's Bournemouth in the quarterfinals of the League Cup in three days time.
Match hero against Southampton Marcos Alonso received his fifth caution of the season on Saturday while Italy international Zappacosta is recovering from flu, leaving Chelsea short of personnel in the wing-back positions.
Moses, who has been predominantly deployed as a right wing-back in the last one year or so, was tested in a left wing-back role when Chelsea faced Bayern Munich in the International Champions Cup back in July.
''I prefer to have all my players available. Now there is a problem, also because Zappacosta is recovering from a bad flu,'' Conte told chelseafc.com post match.
''It can happen. We must be ready to overcome this difficulty.''
The 27-year-old Moses was a non-playing substitute against Nottingham Forest in the third round of the League Cup, while a hamstring injury prevented him from making his first appearance in the competition this season against Everton in October.
