Chelsea Loanee Suspended Four Matches For Dangerous Tackle On Uche Agbo
Published: December 19, 2017
Chelsea's Ivory Coast international Victorien Angban, who has been loaned out to Waasland-Beveren for the entirety of this season, has been suspended by the Disputes Committee of the KBVB.
Angban was suspended for four matches, one of which is conditional, for a dangerous tackle on the tibia of Super Eagles midfielder Uche Agbo.
The incident occurred in the 12th minute of Waasland-Beveren's 3-1 win over Standard Liege on December 8, and Angban was shown a yellow card by referee Boterberg.
Despite the dangerous tackle, Agbo managed to complete the game at Freethiel-Stadion (Beveren-Waas).
The Nigerian and Angban were teammates at Granada last season before their switch to the Belgian First Division A.
In addition to the four-match ban, the Chelsea player was fined 1,600 euros (approximately N675,000).
