Team News Bristol City Vs Man Utd : Kehinde, Akpobire Unlikely To Make First-Team Debuts
Published: December 20, 2017
Premier League giants Manchester United will attempt to qualify for the semifinals of the League Cup when they take on Bristol City at Ashton Gate Stadium on Wednesday night.
Lagos-born midfielder Tosin Kehinde has earned rave reviews after training with the Red Devils first team last week before their trip to The Hawthorns, where they faced West Brom in the Premier League.
However, the versatile midfielder appears very, very unlikely to make his first-team debut for the Old Trafford outfit, having gone the distance for the U23 team in Monday night's 1-1 draw against Leicester City in Premier League 2.
Matthew Olosunde was not involved against the Foxes, fueling speculation that he is in contention to the included in the traveling party to Bristol City, however, the right-back just returned from a long-term injury and is unlikely to feature.
As for Bristol City, there was no hint from manager Lee Johnson that promising English-born Nigerian striker Kel Akpobire would be handed his debut against Manchester United pre-match, especially as he featured for the U23s on Monday.
The 18-year-old signed his first professional contract with the Robins in the summer of 2017.
