VfB Stuttgart's Argentina international Emiliano Insúa says he was delighted to be named in the squad that lost 4-2 to Nigeria in an international friendly in Southern Russia on November 14.
Manager Jorge Sampaoli introduced the left-back for the final ten minutes of the encounter at Stadion Krasnodar with the outcome of the match all but decided.
''I was very excited for this opportunity,'' the former Liverpool star told TyC Sports.
"I really longed for the call-up, I feel that I took advantage of it and enjoyed everything, that I was able to show that I want to be and be a part, I am going to work hard to be called again in March.''
éver Banega and Sergio Aguero scored to give the two-time world champions a two-goal lead, Iheaancho reduced the deficit just before half-time, before Brian Idowu and Alex Iwobi struck in the second half and gave Nigeria their second win against the South Americans.
Nigeria and Argentina will face off again at the 2018 World Cup in a Group D match at Krestovsky Stadium, Saint Petersburg on June 26.
