Manchester United's Argentina World Cup Star Linked With Return To Racing Club
Published: January 02, 2018
Manchester United goalkeeper Sergio Romero is being linked with a return to his homeland ahead of the 2018 World Cup.
Reports out of Argentina suggest Argentine giants Racing Club are interested in signing the Red Devils netminder but the transfer is complicated.
The 2014 World Cup star is behind Spaniard David de Gea in the pecking order of goalkeepers at United and wants to move to a club that can guarantee him regular football as he is desperate to be Argentina's number one goalkeeper at the World Cup.
Sergio Romero's priority is to join another Premier League club in England.
The former Racing Club youth-teamer made four appearances for the first-team before he was acquired by Dutch club AZ in 2007.
His contract with Manchester United is due to expire at the end of the 2020-2021 season.
