Rohr Blows The Gaff : Musa, Iheanacho Are Expected To Depart Leicester City In January
Published: January 09, 2018
One of the worst kept secrets in the January transfer window as regards to Nigerian players expected to depart their clubs has been revealed by Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr.
The German tactician acknowledged that the situation of Leicester City pair Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Iheanacho have changed and he expects them to leave the club before the end of the transfer window, with the World Cup approaching.
The Super Eagles strikers have not featured for the Foxes in their last ten matches in the Premier League.
''I’m in touch with the players and I’m particularly worried that Iheanacho and Musa are not playing regularly,'' Rohr told Supersport.
''The January window provides them a good opportunity to make a move and I hope in the days to come we’ll hear some news from them.
''It is important they move because they need to be active. The Super Eagles needs her best legs in Russia.''
Musa and Iheanacho have been linked with possible moves to the Turkish Super Lig in the winter transfer market, with Bursaspor and Besiktas credited with an interest.
