Official: Fred Friday Joins Mousa Dembélé's Cousin At Sparta Rotterdam
Published: January 09, 2018
With a statement on their official website, Dutch Eredivisie outfit Sparta Rotterdam have confirmed that they have struck a deal for former Nigeria U23 invitee Fred Friday to join the club until June 30, 2018.
The AZ Alkmaar striker moves to Sparta Rotterdam for what will be his first loan since he turned professional.
The 22-year-old began his senior career at Norwegian side Lillestrom, for whom he made 65 appearances, scoring 28 goals with 7 assists.
Friday has seen his first-team opportunities limited at AZ this term, making only one start and five appearances off the bench in the first half of this season.
He tallied seven goals in seven matches for the reserve team of AZ in the Jupiler League.
In the coming days, Friday will link up with his new Sparta Rotterdam teammates, which includes Mousa Dembélé's cousin Ryan Sanusi, at their training camp in Spain.
