Ebuehi Signs Pre-Contract With Benfica, ADO Den Haag Get Only Training Compensation
Published: January 16, 2018
ADO Den Haag right-back Tyronne Ebuehi has penned a preliminary contract with Portuguese Primeira Liga giants Benfica, meaning the Dutch club will not be paid a transfer fee.
Portuguese sports daily Record writes on its print edition that the Nigeria international has inked a contract with Benfica for five years, which will be activated on July 1, 2018 when he would have become a free agent.
ADO Den Haag will demand training compensation from Benfica as Ebuehi was on the books of the Eredivisie side for around five years and he's yet to celebrate his 23rd birthday.
Championship outfit Norwich City, Olympiakos and R.S.C. Anderlecht were credited with an interest in the 22-year-old defender before his trip to the Portuguese capital to undergo a medical with Benfica.
Ebuehi impressed in the Super Eagles 4-2 win over Argentina two months ago and has been tipped to make Nigeria's World Cup roster.
He is represented by former Feyenoord midfielder, Dutch agent Wessel Weezenberg.
