Chelsea Plotting Move For Arsenal's Top Scorer With 105 Goals
Published: January 26, 2018
Chelsea are plotting a move for Arsenal's France international Olivier Giroud, according to reports.
The Mirror writes on its electronic edition that the Premier League champions are eyeing the transfer of Arsenal's Olivier Giroud as their hunt for a target-man continues.
Manager Antonio Conte wants to sign an attacker in January and the likes of Andy Carroll, Islam Slimani, Peter Crouch, Christian Benteke, Fernando Llorente, Ashley Barnes and Edin Dzeko have emerged as potential transfer targets.
Borussia Dortmund wanted Giroud to be included as makeweight in the deal taking Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the Emirates but negotiations are far from being concluded, with the Gunners rejecting their proposal.
Following the departure of Theo Walcott to Everton, the Frenchman is now Arsenal's highest goalscorer, with 105 goals to his name from 252 matches and has provided 41 assists.
The 31-year-old numbers HSC Montpellier, Tours FC, Grenoble Foot 38 and Istres Football Club amongst his former clubs.
