Nigerian Striker Linked With Departure From Arsenal, In Talks With Sint-Truidense
Published: January 29, 2018
Super Eagles target Chuba Akpom is being linked with a departure from Arsenal before the close of the January transfer window.
Multiple sources, including Football.London inform that Chuba Akpom will be allowed to leave if a suitable offer arrives, with Eddie Nketiah having already overtaken him in the pecking order at the Emirates.
The Hale End Academy product previously enjoyed loan spells at Brighton & Hove, Hull City, Coventry City, Nottingham Forest and Brentford.
Reports in the Belgian media have suggested that British assistant coach of Sint-Truiden, Chris O'Loughlin, has proposed that the Belgian First Division A club should sign the Nigerian.
Ahead of a proposed move, Akpom was left out of Arsenal U23s squad for their Premier League 2 clash at Sunderland on Sunday and was also omitted from the team that faced Bayern Munich in the Premier League International Cup on January 23.
This season, the striker has made only two appearances for the Gunners first team.
