UYL Liverpool 2 Manchester United 0 : Bobby Adekanye Shows Off Dribbling Skills
Published: February 21, 2018
Liverpool have progressed to the quarterfinal of the UEFA Youth League after beating Manchester United 2-0 at Prenton Park (Birkenhead, Merseyside) on Wednesday evening.
Nigerian-born Netherlands youth international Bobby Adekanye started for The Reds for the fourth time in this season's competition, but got substituted with 19 minutes remaining.
Though Adekanye extended his run without a goal at home, he was arguably Liverpool's top performer of the first half, causing Manchester United defenders problems with his pace, strength and trickery.
On 11th minute, Liverpool grabbed the lead through Benjamin Woodburn who headed home a cross from Neco William.
The score remained unchanged until the 78th minute when Liverpool doubled their advantage.
Rafa Camacho, who replaced Adekanye, cut inside on the right wing and unleashed a left-footed shot that beat goalkeeper Fojtíček.
Steven Gerrard's kids will face Lukas and Felix Nmecha's Manchester City in the quarter-finals which will be played on 13/14 March 2018.
