Nigerian Midfielder Scores In Third Straight Game As Chelsea Reach FAYC Final
Published: April 10, 2018
Chelsea sealed a place in the final of the FA Youth Cup after thrashing visitors, Birmingham 4-0 in the return leg of their semifinal clash at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening, with Tariq Uwakwe getting in among the goals.
Jody Morris youngsters who ran out 3-0 winners six days ago in the first leg put four more goals past their opponents to post a 7-0 aggregate scoreline, thanks to goals from Callum Hudson-Odoi, Charlie Brown and Uwakwe.
Faustino Anjorin and Uwakwe started for Chelsea in the encounter while Nicholas Okoro was in action from the off for City.
Dead ball specialist, Hudson-Odoi curled home the opener after 30 minutes as Chelsea went in front after passing up a plethora of chances to score.
Charlie Brown tucked home after 39 minutes for 2-0 before Hudson-Odoi notched his brace from a solo run before rattling in a right-footer past Siviter in the Birmingham goal.
Uwakwe rounded off a good night work with the fourth goal, getting onto the end of Hudson-Odoi's cross to tuck home from close range.
It was his third goal in as many games, having registered his name on the score-sheet in the first leg plus last weekend's win vs Southampton in the U18 Premier League.
Chelsea will now have to face either Arsenal or Blackpool, who lock horns in the other semi-final clash after they both played out a 2-2 draw after their first leg.
