Published: April 10, 2018
Nigeria internationals Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi have been shortlisted for Leicester City's Young Player of the Season award, the official website of Leicester City has reported.
The central midfielder scooped the Young Player of the Season at Leicester City’s 2016/17 Season Awards last May and is the favorite to walk away with the award again when the winner is announced on May 1, 2018.
The former Flying Eagles stars will have to see off competition from Demarai Gray, Ben Chilwell, Fousseni Diabaté, Harvey Barnes, Hamza Choudhury and Josh Knight in their bid to win the award.
Iheanacho and Ndidi have also been nominated for the main award that will be handed out that evening, the Player of the Season which was last won by goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.
Iheanacho's strike against Peterborough United on January 27 in the fourth round of the Emirates FA Cup is a contender for the Goal of the Season prize.
Goals from Jamie Vardy (4), Riyad Mahrez (4) and Shinji Okazaki featured on the 10-goal shortlist.
