Has Musa Been Axed From Starting XI Over Handshake Incident? CSKA Coach Has An Update
Published: April 11, 2018
CSKA Moscow coach Viktor Goncharenko has commented on the possibility of Ahmed Musa starting against Arsenal in the Europa League on Thursday, April 12.
It would be recalled that the Nigeria international refused to shake hands with the coach after he was substituted in the 25th round of matches in the Russian Premier League against Dynamo Moscow.
''The behavior of Musa does not affect his chances of playing in the starting eleven. Football is about emotion, if you remove them, will remain robots,'' Goncharenko told Championat.com.
''Musa and I had a normal conversation yesterday. And if he is ready tomorrow, tomorrow he will play. My ambitions here will not influence the decision.''
It was earlier claimed that Goncharenko told the Leicester City loanee that he will sit on the bench forever after the Super Eagles striker publicly humiliated the Belarusian in front of 19,054 spectators on Monday.
Musa has started all the matches contested by the Muscovites since he re-joined the club in the January transfer window, scoring one goal.
