Chelsea & Arsenal Talents Of Nigerian Descent Go To War For FAYC Title
Published: April 27, 2018
Chelsea would welcome Arsenal to Stamford Bridge for the first leg of the FA Youth Cup final as both youth sides go to war for the prestigious crown.
For Arsenal, this is the first time the young Gunners would be making it to this stage in nine years while their hosts have won the last four editions of the competition.
There is every bit of Nigerian flair emanating from the mouthwatering clash with most players of Nigerian parentage set to go toe to toe here — precocious Chelsea duo, Faustino Anjorin and Tariq Uwakwe would look to be called upon yet again after playing varying degrees of roles en route to the final, while all of Arsenal's starlets, James Olayinka, Xavier Amaechi, Saka Bukayo, Arthur Okonkwo, Tobi Omole and Joseph Olowu are all in contention for a run-out this evening.
Olayinka and Amaechi have particularly played pivotal roles for Arsenal in the competition this term, as had also Uwakwe and Anjorin for Chelsea and the quartet are almost likely to be handed starting berths in this one yet.
Olayinka has been described as a player who offers much with his blend of energy and technique while wing wizard, Amaechi has impressed for the team in the course of their run.
After today's encounter, Joddy Morris side would return to the Emirates on Monday evening for the return fixture when the winner on aggregate over both legs would be crowned champion.
