Osayi-Samuel Wants To Improve Goalscoring Stats After First QPR Goal
Published: May 02, 2018
Queens Park Rangers winger Bright Osayi-Samuel has admitted that he wants to improve his goalscoring stats after netting his first goal in the Championship against Birmingham City last weekend.
In general, nobody can criticize Osayi-Samuel because of his silky skills and pace but it took him 17 matches before opening his account in the second-tier and the Nigerian-born starlet has explained that he does not get into the box often.
''I was delighted to score my first goal for the club. It meant a lot to score because I have played a few games now, and it just feels good to get the first and hopefully there are many more to come,'' Osayi-Samuel told www.qpr.co.uk
''I know I need to get into the box more, it’s been pointed out to me that I’m not actually in the box often so I’m restricting my chances of scoring – it’s definitely something I am working on.
''I thought I had a second (referring to a later effort on goal), I was in the box, which I was happy with because that’s how you get chances, and I picked up the second ball but the keeper saved it.''
The 20-year-old Osayi-Samuel has scored six goals since he turned professional and has provided seven assists.
