Nigeria Target Reacts After Reaching Champions League Final With Liverpool
Published: May 03, 2018
Dominic Solanke was pleased to reach the Champions League final with Liverpool following their 7-6 win on aggregate against Roma on Wednesday night.
The Golden Ball winner of the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup in South Korea was introduced in the 87th minute as replacement for Roberto Firmino for his fourth appearance in this season's competition, including the qualifying rounds.
Sadio Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum were on target for the Reds in the first half, while their Italian opponents got their goals through James Milner (OG), Edin Dzeko and Radja Nainggolan (2).
In an eventful cameo, Solanke received a yellow card for time wasting in the 90th minute and was penalized for pushing Federico Fazio.
Writing on Instagram, the Liverpool number 29 stated : ''Final babyyyyyy😍😍 #YNWA''.
The Nigeria Football Federation target added : ''Kiev awaits👏🏾.''
Liverpool, who have not played in the final since 2007, would secure their sixth Champions League trophy if they beat the holders Real Madrid at the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium in Kiev, Ukraine on 26 May 2018.
