Visa Hitch Stops Nigeria GK Coach From Training Akpeyi In South AfricaAllnigeriasoccer.com has been informed that Alloy Agu is still in Nigeria contrary to reports in the local press that he is already on his way to South Africa, where he will train Chippa United netminder Daniel Akpeyi ahead of the 2018 World Cup.

The Super Eagles goalkeeper coach did not travel to South Africa as a result of a visa hitch and it remains to be seen if he'll still make the trip as the national team will start their training camp this month.

Nigeria's foreign goalkeeper coach Enrico Pionetti was in Spain in February to do some work with young goalkeeper Francis Uzoho.

Akpeyi had been expected to be in between the pipes for the Super Eagles in at least one of the matches during the last international break but did not travel to Poland and England due to a visa hitch.

This season , he has posted 11 shutouts in 24 matches in all competitions for Chippa United, while conceding 17 goals.

The former Warri Wolves goalkeeper was named in Nigeria's 30-man provisional roster for the 2014 World Cup but missed out on the final squad, however, he will certainly be on the plane to Russia for this summer's football festival, barring injury.
