Belgium: Akpom, Akpala Score; Moses Simon Drought Extends To 15 Games; Henry Missing

Arsenal loanee Chuba Akpom scored for the second game in a row but it was only a consolation with Sint-Truiden losing 3-1 to Eupen in a Belgian UEFA Europa League playoffs tie at Stadion am Kehrweg.

Eupen established a three goal-lead through Yuta Toyokawa, Mamadou Kone and Florian Raspentino before the Nigerian striker pulled a goal back on 80 minutes, 22 minutes after he came off the bench.

Elsewhere, Nigeria youth international Taiwo Awoniyi was not in the Royal Excel Mouscron squad that were beaten 3-2 by Waasland-Beveren. The Liverpool loanee remains sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Super Eagles striker Henry Onyekuru faces a race against time to be fit for the 2018 World Cup. The Everton loanee watched Anderlecht's 2-1 win at Club Brugge from the stands after failing a fitness test ahead of the game at Jan Breydel Stadion.

Moses Simon and Anderson Esiti started Gent's 1-0 loss to Sporting Charleroi.  The Super Eagles winger has not scored in his last 15 matches for club and country after firing blanks at the GHELAMCO-arena

Exciting winger Samuel Kalu came on in the 46th minute while Esiti was replaced in the 66th minute.

Ex-Flying Eagles skipper Abdul Ajagun played the last 43 minutes of Kortrijk's 2-1 loss to Zulte-Waregem, for whom Peter Olayinka was in action for the entirety of the game.

Having scored in the 34th minute, the Gent loanee has been involved in 25 goals from 36 games in all competitions this season.

Out-of-favour Super Eagles striker Joseph Akpala took his tally to five goals in his last ten matches by scoring in the 70th minute as KV Oostende beat Beerschot-Wilrijk 2-0 at Olympisch Stadion (Antwerp). He was replaced with five minutes left on the clock.
