Rohr Counting On Agali, Scouts For Lowdown On Croatia National Team
Published: May 08, 2018
Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr says he is counting on his scouts led by his former player Victor Agali to give him the lowdown about the Croatian national team ahead of the World Cup.
Nigeria's first World Cup opponents have been snooping around for information about the three-time African champs, with head coach Zlatko Dalić sending his trusted scout Ognjen Vukojević to watch the Super Eagles pre-World Cup friendlies against Poland and Serbia in March.
''I can not ask anyone in Croatia to find out about the national team, that's impossible,'' Rohr told Sportske Novosti.
''After all, I also have good people in Nigeria and intelligent scouts that will bring me all the information I need. I do not worry that something will remain a secret.''
The Super Eagles have reached the last sixteen three times in previous World Cup tournaments, the last of which was in 2014 in Brazil, and the fans are expecting the team to qualify for at least the last eight this summer.
''There must be some pressure in everything you do in life. It's important not to be too big or too small, but it's good that it exists.
''We are humble and confident in ourselves, we try not to put an extra burden on our back,'' added Rohr.
