Czech Republic Boss: Nigeria Far Stronger Than Australia, Saw Their Game Vs England
Published: June 05, 2018
Speaking to reporters at a press conference on Tuesday, Czech Republic national team coach, Karel Jarolím, has stated that their next opponents Nigeria are a tougher side than Australia.
Czech Republic were thrashed 4-0 by the Aussies in their last friendly on Friday, June 1, courtesy of two goals from Leckie, a strike from Nabbout plus an own goal from Jakub Jugas, and it is believed that Jarolím will be under pressure to beat Nigeria tomorrow in their penultimate friendly this month.
''I'm still under pressure, of course, I would rather for a better result, but the reality is that it did not happen and it is up to us to react, it will be important for the team to play, but also for the result, I will be happy,'' Jarolim said.
He added : ''Nigeria is qualitatively stronger than Australia, I saw their match in England, it's a very good opponent.''
Karel Jarolím hinted that he will tinker with his starting lineup as he wants to see more emotions and taste for winning in the team.
Nigeria have met Czech Republic only once in the past, with the Europeans winning 2-1 in December 1996.
