Nwankwo Kanu Names Two Of The Good Players In Super Eagles Team
Published: June 06, 2018Nigeria legend Nwankwo Kanu has named ex-Watford striker Odion Ighalo and Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi among the good players in the Super Eagles team for the World Cup but stressed that there are no standout players.
The Atlanta 1996 gold medalist revealed that the young players are the lifeblood of the Nigeria team and he expects them to do well in Russia because of the tranquility in the camp ahead of the World Cup.
''As the years go by we keep growing and planning, getting more experience. I believe we have the best young players in the World Cup, in terms of age, '' Kanu told RT.com.
''They are doing well. The hunger is there and this is the first time that they have a peaceful camp, in terms of everything [being] well organized.
''[Odion] Ighalo, Alex Iwobi. There is a lot of them that you can mention. We don’t really call them star players but all round we believe they are a good team.''

The former Arsenal striker represented the Super Eagles at three World Cups, in 1998, 2002 and 2010.
Kanu added : ''That was the best. You do everything you do at club level just for you to be in the World Cup.
''The best players in the world have to come to the World Cup. For every player, that is a dream.

''For me as a player I always look forward to the World Cup because it is every four years, it is not something that comes every year.''
