Croatia Send Warning To Nigeria After 2-1 Win Against Senegal
Published: June 08, 2018
Croatia sent out a warning to their World Cup 2018 rivals with a 2-1 victory over Nigeria's continental rivals, Senegal who are one of Africa's flag bearers at the mundial come 16th June.
The encounter at the Stadion Gradski vrt in Osijek saw Inter Milan star, Ivan Perisic and Hoffenheim's Andrej Kramaric strike for The Blazers in a flurry of second half goals.
Both Perisic and Kramaric are expected to be in Zlatko Dalić's starting XI to face Nigeria eight days from today at Kaliningrad in one of the Group D World Cup curtain raisers.
Ivan Rakitic, Luka Modric, Mario Mandzukic and Dejan Lovren were also among the Croats on show and it is telling their manager might decide to stick with this group of players that masterminded this victory in their game against Nigeria.
The victory ensured Croatia move into the quadrennial event in a buoyant mood after losing 2-0 to Brazil in their last friendly game prior to this one.
