Rohr's Conte-Like Training Methods : Eagles To Train Once Sunday & Monday
Published: June 10, 2018
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that the Super Eagles will train only once on Sunday and Monday before they fly out to their World Cup training camp in Yessentuki, Russia.
The Super Eagles players have complained of Gernot Rohr's training methods, making them train rigorously twice a day, in the morning and evening, and this has contributed to them being fatigued or to put it another way, the workload is too much.
It would be recalled that William Troost-Ekong, Chidozie Awaziem and Moses Simon have picked up training ground injuries, with the Gent winger eventually ruled out of the World Cup.
Their only training session on Sunday will begin at 1030 hours and they will have the rest of the day to themselves.
Yesterday morning, they were involved in a full training session, including a practice game, but the evening session was a tactical one, with all the players in camp involved.
One of the Super Eagles most noticeable failings during their pre-World Cup friendlies was at set pieces, the players practiced how to defend and play free-kicks in their last workout under the guidance of Gernot Rohr.
