The Super Eagles started preparations for their World Cup opener against Croatia with their first training session in their base camp at the Essentuki Arena on Tuesday evening, allnigeriasoccer.com is reporting.
The workout was open for the public and journalists to see their Nigerian idols and it lasted approximately two hours.
Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr played his cards close to his chest due to the prying eyes of the spectators, especially from Croatia who are keeping a close watch on the Nigeria team ahead of Saturday's cracker at the Kaliningrad Stadium.
After the warmup exercises, Rohr rounded up the training session with a practice game between Team A and Team B, but did not provide any clues to his starting lineup vs Croatia.
The German football tactician set up the two teams in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with Uzoho, Idowu, Ebuehi, Omeruo, Balogun, Ndidi, Etebo, Ahmed Musa, Mikel, Iwobi and Ighalo playing on the same team.
The other team contained : Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Abdullahi, Troost-Ekong, Awaziem, Echiejile, John Ogu, Onazi, Joel Obi, Iheanacho, Victor Moses and Simy Nwankwo.
The practice game ended 2-1 with Mikel, Musa and Joel Obi on target for their respective teams.
The Super Eagles will train twice on Wednesday, June 13 and both sessions are behind closed doors.
