Super Eagles Training Session: Mikel, Ndidi, Ighalo Help Team Win Mini-Tournament
Published: June 14, 2018The Super Eagles held their final training session on Thursday morning, before flying out to Kaliningrad, venue of their World Cup opener against Croatia.
According to the Nigeria Football Federation, the training session started at 1015 hours; fans and journalists were allowed to feast their eyes on the Super Eagles players for the first fifteen minutes of the workout.
The Super Eagles ended the session with a 'monkey post' mini-tournament, which was closed to the public and press.
The team wearing yellow bibs on top of their green training jerseys won the tournament and it contained John Ogu, Kelechi Iheanacho, Odion Ighalo, Wilfred Ndidi, Obi Mikel, Chidozie Awaziem and Oghenekaro Etebo.
If there were no delays, the Super Eagles were expected to depart their base camp in Essentuki at 1555 hours and the duration of the flight is three hours.
Nigeria and Croatia will do battle at Kaliningrad Stadium (Kaliningrad) on Saturday evening, starting from 2000 hours.
