Odion Ighalo : Win Or Lose, We Are United; Eagles Will Attack Iceland
Published: June 19, 2018
Former Watford striker Odion Ighalo says the Super Eagles remain united despite their 2-0 loss to Croatia in their World Cup opener and has revealed how they will approach the must-win game against Iceland on Friday, June 22.
Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr spoke about the possibility of his young and inexperienced team making mistakes before that game against the Balkans and they did, conceding two goals from set-pieces which ultimately decided the outcome of the match.
Ighalo told fifa.com: ''Our team spirit is very important to us. No matter if we win or lose, we are always united and thinking the same way.
''We believe in this unity and we believe in our team. The Iceland game will be different from the Croatian one.
''We want to attack that game and we want to create chances because only with chances you score goals."
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation have informed that the second Super Eagles press conference of the World Cup holds at the Essentuki Training Site on Wednesday, June 20 from 1630 hours.
The Super Eagles will train behind closed doors tomorrow but the first fifteen minutes is open to the media and fans.
