Official : Promising Nigerian Striker Pens First Pro Deal With Southampton

Through a publication on the official website,
Southampton have officially confirmed that talented Nigerian striker,
Jonathan Afolabi has penned his first professional contract with the
club ahead of the 2018/2019 season.
"This is a proud day for all of the boys, and we are delighted for each and every one of them", the club's academy manager, Matt Hale said.

A Republic of
Ireland U19 international, Afolabi represented the club in the U18
Premier League, Premier League 2, EFL Trophy and FA Youth Cup last
season.
A total of eight youngsters penned fresh professional deals with The Saints, including the Nigerian.
"This is a proud day for all of the boys, and we are delighted for each and every one of them", the club's academy manager, Matt Hale said.
"The
objective for them now is to push on and ensure they use this as a
platform to establish themselves even more and continue to push through
the ranks."
It was earlier reported by the club that Nigerian Football Federation
target, Michael Obafemi and his teammates, Oludare Olufunwa and
ex-Arsenal youth-teamer Nathan Tella have all been retained by the
Saints for the new campaign, having impressed during the course of the
previous season for the club.
