Two Players Of Nigerian Descent Included In Liverpool Squad For Preseason, Awoniyi Omitted

Dominic Solanke and Sheyi Ojo have both been included in Liverpool's list of players who will convene for the preparations ahead of the 2018/2019 campaign.

According to a publication on the club's website, two Nigerian starlets on the books of the Merseyside club were penciled among the 26 players who are expected to report to Melwood for the first day of Liverpool's pre-season training programme which begins on Monday.

A host of the club's players are still away with their countries for the international duty of the World Cup and will be absent as Jurgen Klopp prepares his squad for yet another tedious season.

Solanke made 21 league appearances for Liverpool last term, scoring once while Ojo spent time with promoted Fulham in the Championship, raking in 22 outings and chipping in with four goals.

Ovie Ejaria who returned from a half-season spell with Sunderland last season has already completed a move to Scottish Premiership club Rangers after extending with the Reds while Taiwo Awoniyi's future is still up in the air after his scintillating showing for Belgian club, Royal Excel Mouscron last season.
